Colorectal Surgery Advanced Practice Provider - Surgical First-Assist, No Call or Weekends

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center - Lebanon, NH

The Division of Colorectal Surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH is seeking two Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with RNFA-certification to serve the surgical and inpatient needs of our growing division. In this role, you will work closely with our highly skilled surgeons, nurses, residents, and advanced practice providers in the OR and inpatient setting to optimize patient care and outcomes. You will first-assist in the OR, as well as participate in team-based inpatient rounding and maintain responsibility for discharge planning.

This position offers the opportunity to complete the da Vinci First Assistant training program, a structured, hands-on course designed to build proficiency in robotic-assisted surgery and strengthen your ability to support surgeons in the operating room. The program includes in-depth education on robotic system setup, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and simulation-based practice, culminating in a formal certificate of completion. In addition to the da Vinci First Assistant course, broader operating room team education is available to enhance technical skill, efficiency, and confidence when supporting robotic cases.

This candidate is fully integrated into division functions, including weekly conference, teaching, and research projects when applicable. There are ample opportunities to be involved in clinical teaching with residents, fellows, and medical students. A faculty appointment through Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth will be requested.

This is a full-time day shift position with schedule flexibility over four or five days. There is no night or call requirement for this position. Highly motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply.
