Full Job Description
The Opportunity

You'll own and evolve the cloud platform powering one of the world's most advanced virtual fencing systems. Working across AWS infrastructure, IoT devices, CI/CD pipelines and production operations, you'll solve real-world reliability challenges that directly impact farmers across multiple continents.

As our Software Engineer (CloudOps), you'll become the primary CloudOps engineer supporting our US business hours, taking ownership of live production systems while working closely with our engineering team in Australia. You'll balance day-to-day operational excellence with longer-term platform improvements - helping us build infrastructure that's more reliable, scalable, and easier to operate.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll respond to production incidents, automate repetitive work, improve observability, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our cloud platform. You'll work across CloudOps, infrastructure, automation, and IoT connectivity, with the opportunity to influence technical decisions and see the direct impact of your work.

If you enjoy solving complex engineering problems, taking ownership, and building technology that delivers real-world outcomes, you'll feel right at home here.
What You'll Own

You'll become the primary CloudOps Engineer supporting our US business hours, taking ownership of production systems while working closely with our engineering team in Australia.

You'll:
  • Monitor, maintain and improve our AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Respond to production incidents, troubleshoot issues and implement lasting solutions.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Improve platform monitoring, observability and reliability.
  • Partner with software, firmware, IoT and Customer Success teams to solve operational challenges.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our cloud platform and engineering practices.
What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone with strong cloud engineering fundamentals who's ready to take ownership and continue growing.

You're solid in:
  • Cloud & Infrastructure - AWS (ECS, EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3), Terraform or CloudFormation, Linux and networking fundamentals.
  • Automation & Reliability - CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar), monitoring and observability (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch), and production support.
  • Development - Java, Python or Node.js, plus solid MySQL skills.

Not essential, but you'll have the edge if you've got:
  • Experience with IoT technologies (MQTT, LoRa, LTE-M, NB-IoT), DevSecOps or embedded systems.
  • Beyond the technical skills, you're curious, proactive and comfortable solving problems independently while collaborating with a global engineering team.
