Job Description

We are looking for a Cloud Software Engineer to support, engineer, automate, and optimize cloud technologies across the organization. The Cloud Software Engineer will be responsible for implementing cloud-based architectures, supporting cloud operations, developing automation solutions, and ensuring efficient and secure cloud resource utilization while driving the adoption of next-generation cloud technologies. This position will be a contract and remote.

Due to the specific legal and contractual requirements associated with this position, this role will be direct employment with CAI. This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

What You'll Do

  • Engineer and implement cloud-based technical architectures, migration strategies, deployment solutions, and application optimizations using automation technologies

  • Develop and maintain redundant, scalable cloud solutions that support business objectives

  • Monitor cloud resource usage and performance trends to optimize cloud spend and resource efficiency

  • Design and develop automation scripts and reusable deployment patterns for cloud applications and services

  • Research and evaluate new cloud technologies, services, and deployment approaches to provide recommendations for adoption and implementation

  • Provide Level 2 support for incident, problem, and change management activities related to cloud operations

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and implementation guides

  • Collaborate with senior and lead engineers to improve cloud service utilization, efficiency, and optimization

  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field

  • 3+ years of experience working with at least two modern programming or scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell

  • Experience supporting at least one major cloud platform, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Strong scripting and automation experience

  • Understanding of infrastructure concepts including operating systems, virtualization, and networking

Preferred:

  • Experience developing fault-tolerant, efficient, and maintainable code

  • Experience designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based architectures using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools

  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, or similar automation and version control technologies

  • Knowledge of IT security best practices, including identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate management, and key management

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)

  • Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation technology certification

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional movement throughout the office or work environment

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$40-$45 per hour
