Position Description:

CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Engineer within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities.

The Cloud Engineer designs, implements, and manages an organization's cloud infrastructure and systems, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and efficient. This involves tasks like migrating on-premises systems to the cloud, automating infrastructure deployments, and optimizing cloud costs. They also play a crucial role in troubleshooting cloud-related issues and ensuring adherence to security policies.

This position is located in Arlington, Virginia, USA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design & Development: Create and develop cloud-based systems and applications that leverage cloud services.
• Implementation: Deploy and integrate cloud services and software into an organization's infrastructure.
• Maintenance & Management: Oversee the daily operations of cloud environments, ensuring they run smoothly and meet performance standards.
• Migration: Plan and execute the transfer of an organization's on-premise data and applications to the cloud.
• Security: Implement and maintain cloud security best practices to protect sensitive data and systems.
• Optimization: Monitor resource usage and costs to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency.
• Automation: Automate infrastructure provisioning and other operational tasks to improve speed and reliability.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues within cloud systems to ensure uninterrupted service.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience
• Security Clearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly
• Platform Expertise: In-depth knowledge of major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• DevOps: Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in coding and scripting to create and manage cloud-based functions and applications.
• Containerization: Experience with technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for packaging and deploying applications.
• Networking: Solid understanding of network concepts and how to configure virtual networks in the cloud.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and address technical issues and system weaknesses.
• Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with different technical and non-technical teams to understand needs and deliver solutions.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $150000.00.
