Job Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, develop, and modernize cloud-native applications and services in a fast-paced Agile environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building scalable microservices, leveraging AWS cloud technologies, and implementing modern engineering practices. This role involves collaborating with technical leaders, architects, and cross-functional teams while mentoring engineers and contributing to highly reliable, cloud-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications and services using modern engineering practices.
• Build and enhance RESTful microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, technical leaders, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Design resilient, event-driven applications using messaging platforms such as Kafka, SNS, and SQS.
• Develop and support containerized applications using Kubernetes.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Work with relational databases and write efficient SQL queries.
• Participate in application architecture, design reviews, and software development lifecycle activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote cloud-native development best practices.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 4+ years of experience developing RESTful microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native development.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, Twelve-Factor App methodology, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles.
• Experience with asynchronous processing and messaging platforms, including Kafka, SNS, and SQS.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, including Lambda, AWS Batch, DynamoDB, EC2, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQS, and SNS.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience collaborating within Agile engineering teams.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing and modernizing mission-critical cloud applications.
• Experience building highly available, scalable, and resilient distributed systems.
• Experience working closely with architecture, product, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise cloud solutions.
