Compensation: $120 - $135K annuallyJOB SUMMARY:American Financing is seeking an experienced, proactive, and analytical Cloud Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure that powers our day-to-day operations and core loan systems. We are a lean & agile team, so you must possess the ambition & flexibility to wear multiple hats, automate processes, respond quickly to operational needs, and ensure our cloud environment is secure, scalable, and resilient.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, with preferred expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Strong proficiency with container orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes/GKE) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- 3+ years of Linux administration experience, along with hands-on knowledge of NGINX, web servers, and networking concepts.
- Experience implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations and standard cloud security guardrails.
- Experience supporting financial services or mortgage technology systems is strongly preferred.
- Highly skilled communicator with a strong inherent curiosity to learn, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for thorough technical documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design, deploy, and maintain scalable infrastructure environments in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS/Azure to support mortgage application platforms and internal services.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and system administration automation using Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes (GKE) to streamline deployments.
- Partner closely with internal technology teams to resolve critical infrastructure tickets, optimize NGINX configurations, manage SSO integrations, and support day-to-day operational needs.
- Implement and maintain robust cloud security practices, access controls, and vulnerability management aligned with financial industry regulatory compliance.
- Participate in agile team ceremonies, document system architecture and runbooks, and collaborate across teams to ensure continuous improvement of tech workflows.
