JOB DESCRIPTION
Cloud Architect
This position requires a Public Trust or eligibility to obtain one.
The Cloud Architect provides overall technical leadership and direction for the implementation of cloud computing efforts. This position supports cloud-based solution design, development, migration, foundational cloud services, and cloud adoption initiatives. The role leads cloud pilot efforts and develops architectural concepts and models to support effective cloud solutions within federal government environments.
Compensation & Benefits
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Cloud Architect: $185,000–$200,000 annually.
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Cloud Architect Responsibilities Include:
- Provide overall technical leadership and direction for the implementation of cloud computing efforts.
- Provide cloud foundation service design support.
- Support cloud-based solution design, development, and migration.
- Support cloud pilots and adoption of Platform as a Service (PaaS), specifically related to DevSecOps and cloud adoption.
- Lead cloud pilot initiatives around foundational services for cloud adoption.
- Model business and systems processes based on findings through use-case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models.
- Develop and refine system architectural concepts and integrated architectural models.
- Conduct technical reviews of applications to assess the quality of cloud solutions.
- Support integration with USDA data centers and environments.
- Support automation through DevSecOps, USDA eAuth integration, and Azure Security Center.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Cloud Architect Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities Requested:
- AWS Cloud Architect certification required.
- Experience with cloud-based solution design, development, and migration.
- Experience with cloud computing in an architecture capacity.
- Prior experience integrating with USDA data centers and environments.
- Experience with automation through DevSecOps.
- Experience with USDA eAuth integration.
- Experience with Azure Security Center.
- Prior experience supporting U.S. Federal Government projects.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong time-management and decision-making skills.
- Basic task organizational skills.
- Security Clearance: Public Trust or eligibility to obtain one.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
