Full Job Description
The Cloud Administrator serves as a senior technical contributor and escalation resource responsible for the reliability, security, recoverability, and continuous improvement of Novaspect's Microsoft cloud and hybrid infrastructure platforms. This hands-on role administers and supports Microsoft 365, Azure, identity and endpoint management, virtualization, backup and recovery, and related technologies. The position translates business and operational requirements into secure, reliable, and supportable technology solutions that improve productivity and enable a modern employee experience across a multi-site workforce.

Cloud Administrator,Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Microsoft 365, Identity & Endpoint Administration

  • Administer and support the Microsoft 365 E5 environment, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams Voice, and related collaboration services
  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity, including Conditional Access, MFA, authentication methods, access lifecycle processes, groups, guest access, and single sign-on integrations
  • Administer Microsoft Intune and endpoint management technologies, including compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, Windows Update, endpoint security, and Windows Autopilot
  • Manage Windows, Android, iOS, and macOS endpoints throughout their lifecycle and troubleshoot complex provisioning, authentication, compliance, application, and endpoint issues
  • Partner with business teams to identify opportunities to improve productivity, collaboration, and the digital workplace experience


Security, Compliance & Microsoft Platform Administration
  • Administer Microsoft Defender technologies and investigate security alerts, suspicious activity, endpoint risks, and security incidents in coordination with Cybersecurity
  • Participate in vulnerability remediation, endpoint hardening, incident response, and continuous improvement of security controls
  • Administer and support Microsoft Purview capabilities, including information protection, Data Loss Prevention, retention, eDiscovery, audit, data classification, and related compliance technologies, including supporting documentation and audit evidence as required
  • Support Microsoft Copilot administration, including licensing, deployment, administrative controls, usage monitoring, and coordination with AI and business stakeholders


Azure & Hybrid Infrastructure
  • Administer Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, Azure Backup, monitoring, and related cloud services
  • Administer monitoring and alerting platforms supporting Microsoft cloud and hybrid infrastructure services
  • Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure services
  • Administer and maintain highly available Windows Server Hyper-V failover clusters using Storage Spaces Direct, including day-to-day health monitoring and virtual machine lifecycle management
  • Manage infrastructure capacity and performance, host operating-system patching, firmware coordination, controlled cluster maintenance, and related lifecycle activities
  • Troubleshoot complex Azure, Windows Server, Hyper-V, storage, replication, live-migration, networking, and infrastructure issues


Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery
  • Serve as the primary administrator and internal escalation point for the enterprise backup and recovery environment, including Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Administer and maintain backup jobs, repositories, proxies, retention, replication, restore testing, recovery execution, backup security controls, and related infrastructure
  • Monitor backup health and recovery readiness, proactively address failures and capacity or performance concerns, and coordinate platform upgrades and maintenance
  • Lead the technical execution and coordination of infrastructure disaster recovery planning, testing, documentation, and recovery activities in partnership with Technology leadership and appropriate business stakeholders


IT Service Management, Freshservice & Workflow Automation

  • Administer and continuously improve Freshservice, including platform configuration, workflows, routing, notifications, onboarding and offboarding processes, and related automation
  • Coordinate platform upgrades, feature adoption, vendor support, administrative troubleshooting, and improvements that enhance service delivery and Technology team efficiency


Automation, Operational Excellence & Technical Leadership
  • Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, Power Platform, Azure automation technologies, and other appropriate tools to improve administrative and operational processes
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture information, runbooks, knowledge articles, standards, and procedures
  • Serve as a senior escalation resource, applying disciplined troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to complex and recurring technology problems
  • Collaborate across Technology and business teams, mentor team members, share technical expertise, and identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, recoverability, supportability, and operational efficiency
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance, incident response, and recovery activities when required
  • Stay current on relevant cloud and infrastructure technologies and recommend opportunities to improve the organization's technology environment and business operations


Cloud Administrator, Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive IT experience with increasing responsibility for Microsoft cloud and infrastructure technologies
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience in an enterprise, distributed, or multi-site environment
  • Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and hybrid cloud/on-premises environments
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, Windows endpoints, and Microsoft Defender technologies
  • Strong Windows Server administration experience, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Hyper-V environments, including highly available failover clusters
  • Working knowledge of enterprise backup and recovery technologies, including backup monitoring, retention, restores, and recovery testing
  • Experience using PowerShell for administration, troubleshooting, reporting, or automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to independently resolve complex technical issues
  • Strong communication, customer service, and technical documentation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively across technical and business teams


Cloud Administrator, Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Windows Server Failover Clustering and Storage Spaces Direct
  • Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication or a comparable enterprise backup and recovery platform
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, including information protection, Data Loss Prevention, retention, eDiscovery, and related compliance capabilities
  • Experience administering Freshservice or another enterprise IT service-management platform
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Voice
  • Experience with Microsoft Graph API, Power Platform, or Azure automation technologies
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Copilot or other AI-enabled productivity platforms
  • Experience with technical disaster recovery planning, testing, and recovery execution
  • Familiarity with ITIL-aligned service-management practices


Cloud Administrator, Preferred Certifications

Relevant certifications are valued but are not a substitute for demonstrated hands-on experience. Examples include:

Cloud Administrator, Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50lbs

Cloud Administrator, Pay:
  • Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000
  • Bonus potential: 5%

The final offer will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in the position.
