Position: Clinical Training & Practice Transformation Advisor

Department: TEAM UP Scaling and Sustainability Center

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Hybrid

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Workforce Development and Training, and under the general supervision of the Director of Workforce Development and Training and the Director of Practice Transformation, the Clinical Training & Practice Transformation Advisor develops and leads clinical training programming and practice transformation initiatives within the TEAM UP Scaling and Sustainability Center. The primary purpose of this role is to support the expansion of behavioral health integration in pediatric primary care settings. The Advisor designs and adapts curriculum, delivers training and consultation to Learning Community partners, facilitates practice transformation activities with partner organizations, and manages relationships with new and existing partners to strengthen the Center's impact.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learning Community Training: Develops and facilitates Learning Community activities in collaboration with the clinical training and practice transformation teams, providing foundational trainings for direct care providers and facilitation and training support for ongoing implementation activities including but not limited to team-based care sessions, leadership workgroups, supervisors’ forums, revenue and operations workgroups, and clinical case consultations.

  • Clinical and Operational Consultation and Technical Assistance:Provides consultation, coaching, and technical assistance to Learning Community participants, including direct care staff and practice leadership, to support their active application of clinical skills and implementation of operational change.

  • Curriculum Scaling & Adaptation: Oversees curriculum development and adaptation for training partners and diverse audiences under the supervision of the Director of Workforce Development and Training and the Director of Practice Transformation, expanding the training and technical assistance menu to support Center scaling efforts.

  • Project Oversight: Plans and organizes meeting agendas, project trackers, and communications to support the effective progression of implementation efforts within distinct projects.

  • Subject Matter Resource: Serves as an internal subject matter resource on integrated clinical care, advising the Implementation Team and broader Center on best practices and innovations within the behavioral health and healthcare landscape.

  • External Resource Disseminatio: Develops externally facing training materials for broad dissemination, in collaboration with the implementation team, to support TEAM UP's external training and market footprint.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field;

  • At least 5 years of field experience in a healthcare and/or social service setting providing direct service to children and families, of which at least 3 years must include experience leading project teams/initiatives in quality improvement, project management, health care operations, or program development (or equivalent combination of education and experience.)

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 7 years of direct care experience, working with pediatric populations.

  • Prior experience teaching, training, providing supervision, and creating

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Independent clinical licensure (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or comparable license)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS PREFERRED:

  • Certification in at least one of the following models: Child-Parent Psychotherapy, DC 0-5, Centering Pregnancy/Parenting, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Touchpoints, Circle of Security, Reflective Consultation/Practice, or other pediatric mental health training

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including advanced grammar, editing, and technical proofreading proficiency for curriculum design.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams) and web-based project management software, with a demonstrated ability to produce complex documents, perform data analysis, and maintain databases.

  • Autonomy: Strong ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound, independent clinical and operational judgment.

  • Interpersonal & Discretion: Exceptional interpersonal skills and social perceptiveness, with ability to handle highly confidential information, clearly communicate complex policies, and interact effectively with diverse medical center staff and outside stakeholders.

  • Collaboration: Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work collaboratively as a cross-functional team member.

  • Integrated Care Expertise: Robust knowledge of clinical roles and workflows, specifically within an integrated pediatric primary care team framework.

  • Healthcare Systems Literacy: Deep understanding of broader healthcare systems, systemic operational structures, and current clinical trends.

The TEAM UP Center equips primary care practices to integrate behavioral health services to ensure all children and youth have access to care. TEAM UP does this through a Learning Community that combines clinical training with practice transformation support, coupled with an evaluation arm to advance the evidence base for integrated behavioral health care through rigorous mixed methods research. Compensation Range:

$97,500.00- $141,500.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
