Responsibilities

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services.

Our acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition. We offer advanced treatment for a wide range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. All patients will experience private rooms, have access to a newly renovated therapy gym, and personalized care from our qualified staff.

Inpatient behavioral health services or residential mental health care is a long-term stay at a residential mental health facility that allows for the maximum structure and treatment for mental health disorders.

From support systems, education and medication management to family, individual and group therapies, patients live at the residential facility while attending treatment. Whether acute care for mental health issues or treatment for substance use disorders, Northern Nevada Health System wants to help you get better.

This Clinical Supervisor opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day-shift schedule. This position performs a dual function, clinical and managerial. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the clinical setting, performs disciplinary actions, participates in hiring and termination of staff. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care as necessary, assessing current patient care situations, priorities and needs.
  • Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition

Qualifications

Job Requirements:
  • Current NV State Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS
  • A minimum of 3 years' behavioral health nursing experience.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing required or enrolled in an accredited program within one year of employment or transfer into supervisory role.
