Overview

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist is responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy. Through various assignments within the department, they provide support

of centralized and decentralized medication-use systems as well as deliver optimal medication therapy to patients with a broad range of disease states. Clinical Staff Pharmacist proficiently provides direct

patient-centered care and integrated pharmacy operational services with physicians, nurses, and other hospital personnel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for properly assessing patients' pharmaceutical needs and providing pharmaceutical care.

• Responsible for the accurate and proper compounding and dispensing of prescribed medications and solutions.

• Responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with patients and other healthcare providers to help build a strong multidisciplinary healthcare team that works to improve patient outcomes.

• Responsible for properly counseling patients/patients' families, and appropriate health care professionals regarding drug therapy.

• Responsible for daily pharmacy workflow and pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist-in-charge or designee.

 

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.

• Current state pharmacist licensure in good standing or licensure eligibility in state of employment within ninety (90) days of hire.

• Immunization certification required for Retail or Specialty Pharmacy positions.

 

Experience

• One (1) to two (2) years of pharmacy experience preferred.

 

Required Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

• Maintain the training and education needed to provide patient-centric pharmacy services.

• Retail: Will obtain and maintain the training and education needed to provide comprehensive pharmacy services, including but not limited to naloxone, immunization certification, medication therapy management, and state and federal laws and regulations.
