As a Clinical Scribe, you'll play a vital role in connecting patients with the specialized care they need. Working closely with physicians, referral sources, hospital staff, and interdisciplinary teams, you'll help ensure a seamless admissions process while serving as a trusted clinical resource throughout the referral journey.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Business Development, the Clinical Scribe is responsible for completing patient pre-admission assessments, evaluating clinical appropriateness for admission, and collaborating with the business development and admissions teams to facilitate timely referral conversions.
This position partners with physicians, case managers, nursing staff, referral sources, and internal hospital departments to coordinate admissions and ensure patients receive the appropriate level of care.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-admission assessments and clinical evaluations.
- Complete and update pre-admission documentation in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Director of Business Development, Admissions Manager, and admissions team to facilitate referral conversions.
- Serve as a clinical resource for referral sources, physicians, and hospital partners.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient admissions.
- Review patient information to determine clinical appropriateness for admission.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources and healthcare providers.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and documentation requirements.
- Support business development initiatives through clinical expertise and outstanding customer service.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Current, unrestricted licensure in one of the following is required:
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Respiratory Therapist (RT)
- Physical Therapist (PT)
- Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Prior experience in rehabilitation, LTACH, or healthcare marketing is preferred.
Experience

- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in your licensed discipline.
- Experience in inpatient rehabilitation, long-term acute care (LTACH), acute care, case management, or healthcare marketing is strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
