Job Summary

Senior clinical leader responsible for enterprise-wide clinical strategy. Shapes long-term direction, manages senior leaders, and ensures clinical excellence across RBHA. Licensure is required for oversight of designated services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and implementation of clinical initiatives across divisions
  • Supervise senior clinical leaders and oversee multi-program operations
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and clinical best practices
  • Influence policy development and organizational decision-making
  • Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation for clinical programs
  • Promote quality improvement and service innovation
  • Represent RBHA in external partnerships and strategic collaborations

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications-Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in clinical services or behavioral health leadership
  • Licensure required for oversight of designated services (e.g., LCSW, LPC)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation systems
  • OR?an equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that demonstrates the capacity to perform the essential functions of the position, as permitted by applicable regulatory standards.
  • Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with agency policy.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, public health, or related field
  • Experience managing enterprise-level clinical strategy and senior leadership teams
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, DBHDS, and behavioral health regulations

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has full supervisory authority over assigned staff. Evaluates and signs performance reviews, approves timecards, and administers rewards/discipline. Officially supervises full-time employees (not temporary/seasonal employees). Not a 'lead worker' position.


Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role, generally performs work under the following conditions:
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. While this role may involve desk-based tasks, employees must be able to ambulate independently, operate a motor vehicle, and transition between office and field environments. Field-based responsibilities may include walking short distances, climbing stairs, and carrying essential work items such as a laptop.
  • Close concentration, visual attention and need for manual dexterity required.
  • Normal working conditions. Work is typically performed in a standard behavioral health environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards.
