Duties Description South Beach Psychiatric Center (SBPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility is recruiting a Physician to serve as a Clinical Physician 2 and provide medical care to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

As a Clinical Physician 2 at South Beach Psychiatric Center, you will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Your duties will include:
• Providing clinical consultation for individuals with complex medical diagnoses.
• Reviewing admission referral packets for medical clearance.
• Providing clinical supervision to lower-level physicians and other medical providers.
• Consulting with other licensed physicians and healthcare providers on diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Communicating with local hospitals when SBPC patients are in their care.
• Participating in discharge planning.
• Additional administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Clinical Physician 2 if they have
• NYS License and current registration to practice medicine; and
• 2 years of post-licensure medical experience

OR

Candidates from within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
