Work Schedule: Days and Evenings with Weekend Rotation

Hours:

varies, 6:30a-2:30, 7a-3p, 7:30a-3:30p, 8a-4p, 9a-5p, 10a-6p, 6:30a-5p; Primarily first shift Monday-Friday; some evening & weekend coverage may be required; primary work location at St. Joseph Hospital but travel to other locations may be required Position is intended to support Infusion Pharmacy services, including sterile compounding of both hazardous and non-hazardous medications.

Summary:

In conjunction with the Director Pharmacy, Manager Pharmacy and Lead Pharmacist, ensures compliance with the rules and regulations that govern the practice of the Pharmacy within the hospital and all extension services.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Graduation from an accredited college of Pharmacy required
  • Professionally licensed in New York State required
  • Current registration certificate to practice Pharmacy in New York State required
  • Pharmacist Doctorate (PharmD) preferred
EXPERIENCE
  • Demonstrated experience in program and service development, quality assurance, medication use indicator experience, and cost containment programs
  • Two (2) - six (6) weeks of orientation, depending on prior experience
KNOWLEDGE,SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Good Supervisory skills
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Strong knowledge of math
  • Strong written and verbal communication Skills
  • Ability to operate the following machinery: Personal computer, laminar flow hood, biological hood, compounding devices, telephone, fax machine, hospital computer systems, copy machine, prescription balance, automated medication dispensing machines
