Job DescriptionSouth Country Co-op is currently hiring a Pharmacist to join our team at the Northlands Pharmacy location in Medicine Hat, AB.
What you'll do:Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist is responsible for assisting the Pharmacy Manager with the overall operations of the Pharmacy department. Responsibilities include delivering world-class customer service, ordering and stocking pharmaceuticals, filling patient prescriptions, and providing information to customers. Our Pharmacists provide patient-focused care, including clinical services, counselling and professional advice on prescriptions and OTC products, and administering injections and immunizations.
- Obtain, interpret, and evaluate all prescriptions to ensure therapeutic appropriateness, cost-effectiveness, accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with health care professionals in the community to ensure optimal patient care.
- Supervise Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians.
- Oversee all dispensing duties carried out by a Pharmacy Assistant to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of all prescription dispensed.
- Ensure all medication dispensing processes are accurate and appropriately managed.

Who you are:You are looking for a career in Pharmacy and:
- You have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Phm.) or a Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from a recognized institution and are registered with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
- Preference is given to those with Additional Prescribing Authority (APA) designation or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
- You're familiar with the Kroll pharmacy system (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Outlook, and Excel)
- Strong leadership skills with a high level of integrity and work ethic
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Ability to adapt to new technology
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
- Action-oriented with a positive, energetic approach
