Qualifications

• Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
• Licensed Pharmacist in Virginia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• One year of experience as a Pharmacist, particularly during night shifts preferred.
• EPIC trained and completion of PGY 1 residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, prepare, and verify medication orders as appropriate.
• Provide clinical consultation and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
• Issue controlled substances in compliance with legal requirements.
• Participate in the medication formulary review and approval process.
• Monitor drug therapies for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
• Report adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately.
• Supervise pharmacy support staff and participate in continuous quality improvement.
• Engage in decentralized rounding with clinical teams and respond to emergent bedside alerts.
