Job Summary and QualificationsClinical Pharmacist Coordinators are fully integrated into the Multidisciplinary Care Team and delivers and manages medication therapy utilizing technological advances to provide and continually improve the most cost-effective patient outcomes. The primary role is to provide clinical pharmacy services and support to the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal medication management at LSMC.
What you will do in this role:
- Supervise of pharmacy technicians in all of their duties to include checking all compounds, kits and pharmacy orders filled that are not scanned into Pyxis with Barcode verification and other medication management related duties as assigned.
- Augment the physician order entry and oversight of preparation and delivery of medication
- Responsible for designing, implementing and managing the pharmacy clinical programs. This includes formulary management, policy and procedure development and education across the healthcare spectrum.
- Ensure the Pharmacy Team is fully integrated into the Multidisciplinary Care Team and delivers and manages medication therapy utilizing technological advances to provide and continually improve the most cost-effective patient outcomes.
- Provide education, structure, and support for the pharmacy staff to bring departmental employees to a higher level of clinical involvement and understanding that, in turn, assists the care team in managing drug therapy.
- Attend appropriate multidisciplinary meetings for the purpose of driving the pharmacy clinical model and feedback and support to the care team.
- Prepare and run the P&T meeting agenda providing updates to the Formulary, Standing orders, and protocols for the P&T meeting.
- Act as primary preceptor for APPE students from UMKC School of Pharmacy students
- May have other medication management responsibilities assigned in supporting the pharmacy department.
What qualifications you will need:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school or college of pharmacy, with licensure by the State of Missouri. Preference for Pharm D degree with Residency, BS degree with Residency or BCSPS and PharmD is also acceptable
- Current Missouri Pharmacist License
- At least one year of relevant clinical experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
