Main Function:- Aligns professional practice and educational services with Thompson Health's mission, vision, values, and priorities.
- Prepares nurses and patient care technicians for contemporary practice and supports acquisition of knowledge, skills, and judgement across the care continuum.
Required Job Specific Competencies: - Demonstrates the ability to provide care for acute and chronic patients across the lifespan, cognizant of psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual implications.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to provide high-quality associate experiences during onboarding, nurse residency programs, and educational needs of nurses and patient care technicians.
- Promotes evidence-based practice findings and identifies clinical research opportunities in collaboration with nurses and patient care technicians.
- Implements teaching and learning strategies and interventions based on age-appropriate learning theory and fostering clinical judgement skills among nurses and patient care technicians.
- Evaluates clinical outcomes related to educational interventions including the impact on cost, quality, and satisfaction with health care.
- Demonstrates a high level of collaborative practice and excellent communication skills.
- Displays characteristics of leadership to include autonomous practice, clinical judgement, analysis, effective conflict resolution and the ability to provide leadership to assigned projects.
- Displays a professional demeanor that always exemplifies a positive role model for professional patient care.
- Functions as a facilitator and innovator for state-of-the-art patient care with direct involvement in the implementation of new techniques for safety and quality care.
- Maintains own knowledge base to keep current on interventions, trends, healthcare and professional nursing developments.
- Adapts education to the audience and articulates information in a logical and sequential manner.
- Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to patients, staff and the health system.
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and the ability to quickly reprioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:- NYS license to practice as a Registered Nurse required
- MSN in Nursing or Nursing Education required
- 3 - 5 years of experience in adult acute care or intensive care nursing required
- BLS certification required
- BLS Instructor preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- ACLS Instructor preferred
- Experience in education and program planning preferred
- Previous or current faculty experience including adjunct preferred
Pay Range: $95,000-120,000/yearStarting Rate: Based on experience
