Full Job Description
Provides quality patient care by performing as an expert practitioner, educator, and consultant. Manages clinical activities, including case management, discharge, and patient education. Establish administrative policies and procedures for clinical practice. Supervises practice support staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree, or diploma in Nursing from an Accredited institution
  • Current Maryland licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • At least 3-5 years of clinical experience
  • Previous supervisory and management experience is a plus

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Works cooperatively within own department and with other services to create a system of quality health care delivery.
  • Maintains current knowledge in area(s) of clinical supervision.
  • Supervises and provides direct patient care in accordance with accepted clinical standards while utilizing the department process.
  • Manages department(s) and other satellite locations with consideration for safety.
  • Participates in, and provides leadership for, development of policies-department of nursing and unit specific.
  • Determines staffing requirements and communicates those as appropriate.
  • Interviews and hires all personnel in department(s).
  • Conducts meaningful appraisal of employees in an ongoing and timely manner.
  • Promotes staff development and assists personnel in meeting goals and objectives.
  • Participates in and provides leadership in compliance with applicable TJC standards.
  • Demonstrates positive and effective working relationships with all health care team members.

Total Rewards
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland's Faculty Physician's Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
