Job Description: Pediatrics Unit- The Pediatrics unit is an 8-bed inpatient unit serving newborns through adolescents. The patient population includes children with viral and respiratory illnesses, diabetes, and post-operative care needs. The team provides family-centered care in a supportive, developmentally appropriate environment.
- The Pediatrics department collaborates closely with pediatric specialists from Massachusetts General Hospital for Children to ensure access to advanced expertise and high-quality care. When appropriate, the unit also cares for adult patients to support hospital capacity and patient needs.
Special Care Nursery (SCN)- The Special Care Nursery is a 9-bassinet, Level II nursery caring for infants 32+ weeks gestation and weighing 1,500 grams or more. The SCN supports newborns requiring specialized care for conditions such as respiratory distress, temperature instability, and feeding and growth challenges.
- The unit provides Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) screening in collaboration with Boston Children's Hospital and maintains a strong partnership with the Massachusetts General Hospital NICU for consultation and care coordination.

RN Manager, Clinical Nurse Manager - Pediatrics and Special Care Nursery (SCN) provides 24/7 leadership and operational oversight for the Pediatrics and Special Care Nursery units. As a key member of the Patient Care Services leadership team, this role supports professional nursing practice and ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, family-centered care aligned with organizational goals.
This is a hands-on, transformational leadership role requiring strong clinical expertise, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to quality, safety, and staff engagement.
What You'll Do- Provide continuous leadership and accountability for Pediatrics and Special Care Nursery operations
- Promote a culture of safety, quality improvement, and patient-centered care
- Support staff development through orientation, education, competency validation, and performance evaluations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient experience, clinical outcomes, and staff engagement
- Lead staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation based on patient acuity and budgetary guidelines
- Manage personnel processes including hiring, coaching, corrective action, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, professional, and organizational standards
- Participate in quality initiatives, evidence-based practice, and annual quality improvement projects
- Conduct leadership rounds and provide service recovery as needed
- Partner with nursing and executive leadership to achieve unit, departmental, and organizational goals
Who You Are / RequirementsRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Current New Hampshire RN license
- Required certifications at time of hire:
- BLS
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- PALS
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive clinical leadership experience
- Strong clinical experience in Special Care Nursery / NICU / Pediatrics
- Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated competency in staffing, budgeting, performance management, and quality improvement
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in a healthcare-related field
- Specialty nursing certification
- Prior Nurse Manager experience in Pediatrics and/or Special Care Nursery
