Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Clinical Laboratory Manager to lead operations across two high-volume ambulatory laboratory sites in Weymouth. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a motivated lab professional who thrives in a fast-paced outpatient environment and is passionate about driving operational excellence, team development, and high-quality diagnostic services that directly support patient care.

Schedule & Environment
• Core leadership schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Laboratory hours:
oWeekdays: 7:00 AM - 6:30 PM
oWeekends: 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Occasional operational support may be needed outside standard hours, including weekends, depending on site needs
• Leadership presence is required across both locations:
o541 Main Street, Weymouth
o101 Columbian Street, South Weymouth

This role offers meaningful visibility across ambulatory diagnostics operations, with the opportunity to influence how services are delivered across multiple care sites.

About the Opportunity
In this role, you will provide day-to-day and strategic leadership for two outpatient laboratory locations, guiding a dedicated team of approximately 11 staff members across full-time, part-time, and per-diem roles.
You will serve as the operational leader for both sites-empowering your teams, optimizing workflows, and ensuring seamless, high-quality lab services that support clinicians and patients across the ambulatory care continuum.
This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys building structure, coaching teams, and driving consistency across multiple sites while partnering closely with system-level laboratory leadership and specialty services, including the cancer center laboratory.

What You'll Do
• Lead and support two ambulatory laboratory sites, ensuring smooth, efficient daily operations and strong team performance
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing laboratory team through clear expectations, accountability, and supportive leadership
• Serve as the primary operational leader and escalation point for staffing, workflow, and service delivery needs
• Partner with system laboratory leadership and clinical teams to align priorities, standardize processes, and improve service access and turnaround times
• Oversee quality and compliance activities, including review of QC, maintenance, temperature logs, and other required laboratory documentation
• Ensure readiness and performance in CLIA/CAP-regulated environments while maintaining a strong culture of quality and safety
• Support implementation, validation, and onboarding of new tests, instruments, and workflows
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, staff experience, and patient service
• Provide thoughtful oversight of staffing and scheduling across both sites, ensuring appropriate coverage and operational continuity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field required
  • ASCP certification (MLS/MT) required
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory generalist experience
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a CLIA-regulated laboratory
  • Strong background in clinical chemistry and hematology
  • Demonstrated success leading teams in a hospital or clinical laboratory environment
  • Working knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
    • Beaker experience strongly preferred
    • Experience with workflow or operational system use preferred
  • Experience with test validation, implementation, and process improvement
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, coach, and build trust across teams
