Description

Nexus Family Healing is hiring for our leadership team at our Onarga, IL, location.

Nexus Family Healing is located approximately 30 miles south of Kankakee and 45 miles north of Champaign-Urbana, just a few miles off of I-57 on a historic site in Onarga, IL.

Nexus Family Healing provides boys ages 10 to 20 years old a structured, homelike environment where they can safely address a variety of unhealthy behaviors and mental health issues as well as childhood trauma. Nexus Onarga youth attend our onsite private, therapeutic Grand Prairie School which offers special education with small classes for grades 5th-12th.

Schedule/Pay:
  • Full-time; on-site position. Monday through Friday schedule. Must also be available for on-call coverage during evenings and weekends.
  • Salary offers starting at $95,000 - 105,000 annually based on years of related experience and credentials.

Position Summary:

Our Clinical Director oversees trauma-informed care services and manages clinical programming within the agency. This position also serves on the Nexus management team with similar responsibilities across all sites.

Primary responsibilities:

Program Management & Administration
  • Provides program management and administration onsite and within the organization through a trauma-informed care lens.
  • Develops, grows, and drives clinical programs and programming consistent with Trauma-Informed clinical best practice, community needs and organization directives.
  • Initiates, identifies, and analyzes potential or current problems or risk factors at the agency and generates alternative sound decisions.
  • Maintains responsibility for development and monitoring of admission and discharge criteria.

Program Policy & Strategy
  • Participates in the budget development process and retain responsibility for the budget in the clinical area.
  • Investigates and responds to problems in the areas of referrals, intakes, and discharges.
  • Responsible for clinical aspects of quality assurance (i.e., Referral Agent Satisfaction Surveys, Exit Interviews, Quality Management Program) at the agency.
  • Demonstrates conflict-resolution skills with clients, families, and other team members in times of need.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all program policies, procedures, and manuals are current and complied with.
  • Ensures all Nexus treatment philosophies are taught and implemented consistently at agency.
  • Participates in and support the ongoing selection, evaluation, and professional development of staff.
  • Ensures compliance with all physical and emotional safety policies and procedures involving living areas, buildings, campus grounds, and while attending off-campus activities.

Procedure, Training & Compliance
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries in all interactions and contact with clients and their families.
  • Complies with all documentation standards including, but not limited to, critical incident reporting, informing the family as appropriate; Ensures compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Regularly attends and actively participates in staff meetings, positively representing and advocating for the needs of clients (and their families as applicable).
  • Performs restraints with clients in the event of imminent harm to self or others, when applicable based on operational licensing; reports incidents to the proper individuals, to include families.
  • Exhibits clear, professional, respectful, and strengths-based communication with external contacts, families, clients, and families.
  • Easily adjusts and be highly flexible in meeting changing work needs and demands and willingly provide direction and/or assistance when needed.
  • Remains current on all required training and certifications.
  • Represents the agency and programing; manage internal and external issues and inquiries in conjunction with the Executive Director.


Requirements

Required:
  • Master's degree in Social Services, Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Psychology, or clinically related field required.
  • Clinical licensure (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW), be eligible and on track for licensure or meet licensure expectations.
  • Three (3) years' experience in adolescent, adult and family-based behavioral counseling and/or resenditial experience.
  • Two (2) year's supervisory experience in residential setting REQUIRED.
  • Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements

Preferred:
  • Experience in residential setting and/or other acute mental health setting(s).
  • Experience in Trauma-Informed Treatment Modalities.
  • Experience working with youth and families facing acute mental health needs.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and religious backgrounds.
  • Clinical licensure (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW), be eligible and on track for licensure or meet licensure expectations.
