RN - Clinical Coordinator, BSN Program
The BSN Clinical Coordinator is an instructor (academic or clinical) appointment and has administrative academic, service, and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program. This individual demonstrates competence in clinical education teaching and curriculum development. In addition, the PNCC’s primary responsibility is to plan, coordinate, facilitate, administer, and monitor activities on behalf of the academic program and in coordination with the Director of Nursing and/or the Associate Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities
Principle Accountabilities & Deliverables
- Scheduling/Coordination of student clinical and lab hours
- Scheduling student at clinical sites and make up hours
- Weekly (as applies) verification that students have met their clinical objectives.
- Maintenance of documented monthly communications with all clinical affiliates, via a simple open newsletter or the like, to relay important clinical information, (i.e.: upcoming schedule changes, testing, documentation, etc.).
- Assist with pre-clinical classroom and other instruction assignments.
- Help to obtain new clinical affiliates as required by the program.
- Inventory, procure equipment, supplies, and assure readiness of the clinical laboratory. Report all broken, defective or needed equipment to Program Director and the Academic Dean immediately and suggest remedy.
- Document visits to all clinical sites on a regularly scheduled basis as approved by the Program Director.
- Attend all program graduation and pinning ceremonies.
- Process students’ physical examination, immunization reports and additional health forms required by clinical sites to assure compliance.
- Remain available in person, by phone or other methods of communication at any time a student is in clinic, to solve problems as they arise
- Assist the Director of Nursing and/or the Clinical Director and with any assigned projects
- Conduct preceptor orientation at the start of each term and as deemed necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Licenses / Certifications
- Must have an active and unencumbered current RN license and the privilege to practice nursing in the state of Colorado
Education / Experience
- BSN from an accredited school required and MSN preferred
- Must have been actively employed in nursing in the past three years (ACCSC); If the instructor has not been actively employed in nursing in the past three years, the instructor’s advanced preparation in nursing, nursing education, and nursing administration and prior relevant nursing employment may be taken into consideration in evaluation the qualifications for the position
- Must meet all regulatory and corporate qualifications
- Must meet approval of regulatory board in order to hold position
Skills
- Communicates between the Academic Institution and Affiliated Clinical Education Sites
- Clinical Education Program Planning, Implementation, and Assessment of students, preceptors, and clinical sites
- Clinical Site Development
- Clinical Faculty and Preceptor training
- Serve as clinical, simulation and lab faculty when coverage is necessary
- Partner with course instructor and/or the simulation coordinator to map and implement virtual simulation in lieu of clinical experiences when necessary
Abilities
- Ability to:
- Coordinate and schedule clinical placements for over 100 practical nursing students
- Problem solve through critical thinking and clinical judgement skills
- Demonstrate ability of organizational skills and time management skills
- Show proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft™
- Effectively communicate in writing and verbally

Work Environment
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
- This position is designated as onsite. Employees must be able to follow all safety precautions including the use of personal-protective equipment. Employees must also be able to adhere to site-specific safety procedures. Work environments may include exposure to student learning environments with a variety of conditions. Employees must meet minimum technical standards for eligibility and participation.
Salary: $102,000
