Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Management and Leadership in the Michael A. Leven School of Management, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality Executive MBA Programs with a preferred start date of January 2027. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

Teaching (4:3 Load)
  • Teach primarily in the Executive MBA Program and provide high-quality instruction to experienced professionals and organizational leaders.
  • Teach graduate-level courses in leadership, management, strategy, organizational behavior, and related disciplines within the Executive MBA curriculum.
  • Remain current with developments in management, leadership, organizational effectiveness, and executive education and incorporate these insights into teaching and program development.
  • Deliver engaging, executive-level instruction that bridges academic theory with contemporary business practice and real-world application.
  • Design, develop, and continually update course content to reflect emerging trends, industry best practices, and the evolving needs of executive learners.
  • Incorporate experiential learning opportunities, applied projects, simulations, executive assessments, and case-based teaching methodologies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to facilitate discussion-based learning environments that leverage the professional experiences of Executive MBA students.
  • Provide timely and meaningful feedback that supports student learning, leadership development, and career advancement.
  • Maintain accessibility to Executive MBA students through advising, mentoring, and executive coaching as appropriate.
  • Serve as Faculty Team Lead for assigned EMBA courses, coordinating course delivery, faculty engagement, curriculum alignment, and student experience.
  • Participate fully in the weekend delivery format of the Executive MBA Program, including on-campus class sessions held on designated Saturdays and Sundays throughout the academic year.
  • Teach and participate in both domestic and international residencies.

Service
  • Have an active role in supporting the Executive MBA Program, the Coles College of Business, and the broader university community.
  • Participate actively in Executive MBA program activities including orientations, residencies, executive networking events, graduation ceremonies, and student engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to support curriculum innovation, program assessment, strategic planning, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Contribute to student recruitment, admissions activities, and yield initiatives by representing the Executive MBA Program at internal and external events.
  • Engage with alumni, corporate partners, advisory board members, and community stakeholders to strengthen program visibility and industry connections.
  • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees as assigned.
  • Support Assurance of Learning activities and accreditation efforts, including AACSB and SACSCOC reporting and assessment processes.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for corporate partnerships, executive education initiatives, and experiential learning projects benefiting Executive MBA students.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful connections with industry, professional associations, and business leaders.
  • Contribute to a collaborative faculty culture focused on delivering an exceptional executive student experience.

Research
  • Given the educator-practitioner nature of this position, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain professional currency and contribute to the intellectual environment of the college.
  • Maintain an active agenda of scholarly, professional, or applied intellectual contributions consistent with AACSB faculty qualification standards.
  • Engage in scholarly activities that enhance teaching effectiveness and support executive-level business education.
  • Present at academic, practitioner, or professional conferences as appropriate.
  • Pursue interdisciplinary research collaborations that inform teaching, leadership development, and organizational practice.


Required Qualifications

An earned Ph.D., or the foreign equivalent, in Management, Leadership, Organizational Behavior, Strategy or a closely related business discipline, is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant professional experience in business, industry, government, consulting, or a related professional setting.
  • Senior leadership, executive, consulting, or entrepreneurial experience with responsibility for leading people, teams, organizations, or strategic initiatives.
  • Experience teaching in Executive MBA, MBA, professional master's, executive education, or corporate leadership development programs.
  • Evidence of impactful professional engagement through leadership in industry associations, professional organizations, or community-based partnerships.
  • Record of applied scholarship, thought leadership, professional publications, or peer-reviewed academic publications.
  • Experience mentoring experienced professionals and facilitating executive-level discussions and team-based learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect academic content to contemporary organizational challenges and leadership practice.
