Summary:
The clinical account executive is responsible for managing and coordinating daily operations and relationships between clients, brokers, and vendors. This position works directly with all pharmacy consulting practice departments to serve as a clinical resource to enhance plan performance and service for existing and potential clients. This position is responsible for the comprehensive review of medication utilization, prescription plan designs, and ongoing clinical support while optimizing medication therapy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze monthly data to identify cost drivers related to drug utilization and actively monitor claims data using various vendor platforms
Develop and deliver quarterly reviews that detail performance and reporting along with the evaluation of future strategy and integrated solutions
Identify cost-effective strategies to manage wasteful spending and specialty medication cost control
Educate all pharmacy consulting practice departments with clinical updates, trends, and industry updates
Support all pharmacy consulting practice departments with escalated clinical issues as necessary
Serve as a clinical resource for client and broker decision support
Develop a clear understanding to meet client’s needs, goals, and objectives
Establish and manage effective client, broker, and vendor relationships
Assist with prospecting calls with broker/consultant
Assist with the formulation and presentation of the RFP results to prospects and clients
Effectively present clinical data to clients and lead strategy discussions during onsite/virtual presentations
Interpret, translate, and monitor PBM clinical design, rules, and formulary to brokers and clients
Coordinate and monitor clinical programs from the PBMs and other program vendors to evaluate effectiveness
Collaborate regularly with PBM and other program vendors to enhance service and performance provided to client
Adapt with evolving roles and responsibilities required by industry to satisfy deliverables
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
Commanding and persuasive presenter in individual and group environments
Leadership skills to effectively implement changes and solve problems
Ability to work independently, while collaborating with other team members
Ability to analyze, understand, and use statistical report data
Fluent in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to travel onsite to clients and prospects
Education, Training and Experience:
Doctorate of pharmacy degree
Active licensure as a pharmacist
Prior experience or understanding of the PBM industry is preferred but not required
The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $120,000 to $130,000 per year.
Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
