POSITION TITLE: Clinic Director

DEPARTMENT: Community Legal Aid

SALARY RANGE: $108,793 to $123,629

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Clinic Director, Community Legal Aid (CLA), identifies strategic opportunities for CLA in line with Windsor Law's access to justice mandate, manages CLA and provides supervision and direction to CLA Review Counsel and staff. CLA has the responsibility and carriage of client files, trains and supervises law students in the provision of legal services to clients and designs and implements projects for the purpose of law reform, public legal education, and in the service of Windsor Law, the University of Windsor and the Windsor-Essex community.

Key job functions include:
• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the clinic, including managing a reduced legal practice and ensuring effective service delivery.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, funders, community partners, and the Advisory Board.
• Lead strategic planning, business planning, and risk management initiatives in collaboration with the Dean or designate.
• Oversee student experiential learning and support a high-quality educational environment.
• Provide leadership for all human resources and labour relations functions, including recruitment, performance management, employee development, and policy compliance.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and psychologically safe workplace while promoting continuous improvement and organizational excellence.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will:
• Minimum qualifications LL.B/J.D.
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• Understanding of Community Legal Aid's mandate, policies and programs
• Proven experience in managing employees, experience managing and/or supervising volunteers and students.
• Experience working in a community legal clinic.
• Experience with strategic planning, risk management and business case planning and managing budgets
• Experience teaching at a university level.
• Experience overseeing office operations, especially those relating to financial affairs.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft office.
• Demonstrated commitment for promoting and imbedding Indigenization, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in the delivery of strategic services.
