Title:
Classified Sr. Systems Administrator

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Classified Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration of a variety of critical data systems, including computer systems hardware, software, information systems, and peripheral equipment such as servers, desktops, printers, and storage devices. You will maintain, install, upgrade, and configure systems, manage operating systems, and ensure the security and recovery of classified systems. You will leverage your technical expertise to solve complex problems, improve processes, and provide guidance to junior team members under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain classified computer systems hardware, software, information systems, and peripheral devices (e.g., servers, desktops, printers, storage solutions).
  • Install, configure, and upgrade system hardware and software to ensure maximum performance, security, and compliance.
  • Manage operating systems, ensuring they are up-to-date, secure, and functioning efficiently.
  • Develop and implement security protocols and recovery procedures, including regular system backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, utilizing deep knowledge of the field and industry best practices.
  • Continuously improve processes and systems to enhance overall performance, security, and efficiency.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior team members, assisting in their professional development.
  • Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and recommend improvements or optimizations.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards for classified systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on system configurations, upgrades, and procedures.
  • Support cross-functional teams with system-related tasks, such as integration and deployment of new infrastructure.
  • Serve as a technical expert and point of escalation for critical system incidents, providing timely resolutions.


Qualifications:
  • An undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or a related IT field, with a focus on managing complex data systems.
  • Extensive experience with computer systems hardware, operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix), and peripheral equipment.
  • Strong understanding of IT security practices, including encryption, access controls, and backup/recovery procedures.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, using problem-solving skills and industry best practices.
  • Experience in maintaining system performance and implementing improvements to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to document and report on system status and incidents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).
  • Experience with cloud-based systems, virtualization platforms, and automation tools.
  • Previous experience managing or administering classified systems in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience in managing backup and disaster recovery operations for large-scale IT infrastructures.


Security Clearance:
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for handling classified information.


Work Environment:
  • This position is 100% onsite, working in a secure environment, with potential for on-call duties or after-hours support as needed.
  • Candidates may be required to occasionally travel for system upgrades, deployments, or training
