Claims Specialist - Excess & Umbrella

We are currently seeking a Claims Specialist - Excess & Umbrella to join our growing North America Claims team in Alpharetta, Georgia.

The Impact You'll Have

As a Claims Specialist - Excess & Umbrella, you will proactively investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve high-exposure claims while ensuring adherence to best practices and delegated authority guidelines.

You will serve as a trusted partner to customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders, playing a critical role in delivering effective claims solutions and protecting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex Excess and Umbrella claims involving significant exposures and complex coverage issues.
  • Maintain accurate and timely claims documentation within Allianz Commercial claims systems.
  • Select, manage, and provide direction to external service providers, including attorneys, independent adjusters, and subject matter experts.
  • Analyze policy coverage and determine appropriate reserve recommendations.
  • Deliver cost-effective, service-oriented claim resolutions while balancing customer needs and business objectives.
  • Support the training, development, and coaching of less experienced claims professionals.
  • Ensure claims are managed within delegated authority limits and in accordance with claims handling procedures and guidelines.
  • Prepare referral documentation for claims exceeding authority levels.
  • Assist in developing claims management protocols for new business accounts in partnership with clients, brokers, and loss adjusters.
  • Support business retention and growth initiatives through exceptional claims service and broker engagement.


What We're Looking For

The annual base salary range base pay range for this role is $112,818 - $170,509. The annualized represents a North American market range. The actual salary for this position may be above or below and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
