However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well. About the role Job Description We're looking for a Claims Specialist, Accident Benefits to join our growing team! What you'll do here:

• Participate in the management of routine and complex files through the dispute process.
• Represent the company in the negotiation and settlement process at the License Appeal Tribunal.
• Attend License Appeal Tribunal case conferences and hearings.
• Demonstrate exposure recognition through proactive file handling with strong analysis.
• Document analysis of file in claims system including rationale for dispute recommendation.
• Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with our legal partners
• Instruct Counsel on files in dispute.
• Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as an independent medical examination, customer medical or employment history required to clarify and/or justify a claim.
• Liaising with Technical and Health Services to ensure appropriate action is in place where appropriate.
• Collaboration and networking with different business units.
• Prepare Large Loss /Gatekeeping summaries where appropriate.
• Complete training and coaching initiatives.
• Negotiate settlements with supportive rationale
• Handle a regular intake of task assignments of License Appeal Tribunal disputes

What you bring to the table:

• College or University diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience
• 2 to 3 years of Catastrophic claims handling experience and, or Catastrophic dispute handling experience.
• A minimum of 5 years accident benefit experience
• Strong analytical skills and excellent planning with a high level of thoroughness
• Can learn quickly and adapt to change
• Strong sense of team spirit
• Autonomy and proactive
• Knowledge of provincial legislation governing auto insurance
