Job SummaryThis position is responsible for providing daily support, supervision, and guidance to a team of adjusters handling of commercial insurance claims. This may include supervision of claims handled by a Third-Party Administrator (TPA).
Essential Functions• Ensure that the claim team follows our best practices to optimize claim processing quality and timeliness.
• Provide appropriate upfront directives on daily new claim assignments.
• Assist the claim team in coverage investigations, liability analysis, damage evaluation, reserving, and settlement negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with Insurance Department regulations.
• Monitor individual performance and ensure it meets expected quality and performance objectives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• High-school degree or equivalent, college degree preferred.
• NY State Adjusters license or equivalent a plus, but not required. Ability to obtain state licensing as needed within 3 months of hire.
• Minimum of 2-3 years exposure to commercial claims handling including first-party and third-party claims adjustment (knowledge of commercial coverages a plus).
• Knowledge of various state regulations as they apply to the claims resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to succeed and excel in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Strong time management and desk management skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to operate efficiently in a Windows-based environment using Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as company claim administration software.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion.
For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$80,000 - $110,000/year
- Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
