Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years in claims, including 3 years managing complex files.
• Deep understanding of claims laws, especially civil and tort law related to Property insurance.
• Strong mathematical and accounting knowledge for income and expense calculations.
• Proven negotiation skills for complex legal and insurance concepts, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while organizing tasks effectively.
• Physical capability to inspect properties requiring mobility such as ladders and varied terrain.
• Valid California Driver License and ability to operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical claim handling for property damages, collapses, and earth movement.
• Supports and fills in as a technical supervisor during the manager's absence.
• Assist with regional audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Mentor and develop junior claims representatives, sharing expertise and guidance.
• Conduct comprehensive inspections of damaged properties and assess the extent of loss.
• Engage in negotiations with claimants and stakeholders, advocating for the company's position.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Claim Manager or Director.
