Lead the Civil Practice Across the United States

The Civil Practice Leader will provide leadership for a diverse portfolio of civil engineering services, including:
  • Site Civil Engineering
  • Municipal Engineering
  • Land Development,
  • Land Surveying
Responsibilities

You'll lead the strategy, technical direction, and growth of AE2S' Civil Practice nationwide.
  • Set and drive the national vision for the civil engineering practice
  • Partner across regions to grow teams, capabilities and marketing presence
  • Lead technical direction and elevate quality across all civil projects
  • Anticipate and operationalize emerging trends in the civil practice
  • Represent AE2S as a recognized voice in the industry through client advisory roles, conferences, and professional engagements
  • Support major pursuits and provide technical leadership in business development
  • Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff across offices

Compensation and Total Rewards
The anticipated salary range for this position is:
  • $120,000-$200,000+
    • This salary range represents AE2S's good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, technical expertise, licensure, certifications, education, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.

Qualifications

Basic

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or directly related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • 10 or more years of experience in site civil, municipal engineering, or related
  • 2 years of leadership experience leading teams, initiatives, or practice areas
  • Demonstrated track record of technical excellence
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients, the public, and other employees
  • Proven ability to develop, win, and retain client relationships
  • Ability to travel periodically to support conferences, project pursuits, client meetings, and other business development activities
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading complex internal initiatives and external projects
  • Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously
  • Reputation for integrity, sound judgment, and leadership within the organization and industry

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
  • May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
  • May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
