Stantec's Plano Texas office is looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer. This is an opportunity for a driven individual to serve as the technical lead on local and regional projects and support critical client delivery tasks throughout North Texas.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Engineer of Record for civil/conveyance infrastructure projects with responsibility for reviewing and sealing of projects.
  • Provide engineering support for projects in Dallas and throughout the region, performing a variety of tasks to plan, execute and deliver the completed project.
  • Conduct alternative analyses (route alignments, pipe size and materials, etc.) to support business case evaluations for project decisions.
  • Apply industry standards (ASTM, AWWA, ACPA, etc.) as well as client standards and requirements.
  • May perform or assist Project Manager and/or Project Technical Lead with managing and monitoring financial performance of project budgets.
  • Evaluate, select, specify all civil engineered systems or products for a project.
  • Manage and lead others while working on projects and developing design; assigns, reviews and evaluates work for technical accuracy and completeness; advises on technical problems.
  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Lead in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and cost estimating.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents.
  • Participate in constructability reviews.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
  • Lead the development of new standards and specifications for the discipline.
  • Serve as the Project's point of contact with clients, agencies and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.
  • Remain current on regulatory policy and rule changes and may establish working relationships with regulatory officials.
  • Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects, and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews and supporting negotiations for project contracts.
  • Assist and/or lead the development of proposals and contract negotiation.

  • Experienced in the design large diameter steel, concrete, plastic, and fiberglass pipe for water, wastewater and storm water pipelines and related appurtenances.
  • Experienced in the design of wastewater lift stations and potable water reservoirs and pump stations preferred
  • Experienced with the use of AutoCAD Civil3D.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Process, Chemical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Master of Science in Civil/Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred.
  • 5 - 10 years of professional experience in water / wastewater conveyance design and construction projects.
  • Texas Professional Engineering (PE) License required within 6 months of hire.

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
