Full Job Description
Cisco Network Engineer for a on-site opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. The Candidate will serve as a senior Network Administrator supporting a large enterprise network environment by maintaining, securing, and optimizing critical network infrastructure. This role requires advanced expertise in network administration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support while collaborating with technical teams to ensure reliable and secure network operations.

Required Qualifications for the Cisco Network Engineer:
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
  • 10+ years of experience administering Cisco Firewalls.
  • 10+ years of experience configuring and supporting Cisco Routers and Cisco Switches.
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco VPN technologies and Cisco network administration.
  • 5+ years of experience administering Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Strong experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving complex routing, switching, and connectivity issues.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-team environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams and provide knowledge sharing when appropriate.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to multiple work sites during business hours.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Cisco Network Engineer:
  • 10+ years of experience using network monitoring and tracing tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise network architecture.
  • Advanced experience with routing, switching, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting wireless network environments.
  • Experience working with hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA and/or CCNP.
  • Familiarity with Fortinet/FortiGate, Meraki, Citrix NetScaler, Certes, or Trellix technologies.

Responsibilities of the Cisco Network Engineer:
  • Configure, install, maintain, upgrade, and support enterprise networking equipment and infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement solutions to maintain optimal system availability.
  • Perform network analysis, design, configuration, documentation, and ongoing operational support.
  • Maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, and configuration records.
  • Implement security best practices, software updates, and infrastructure improvements to ensure compliance and system reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to resolve complex issues and provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer.

Work Location: Fully onsite in Blythewood, South Carolina.
