Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Public Service Adminstrator of Child Protecton Training Academy (Simulations) Staff Development Training Administrator. Essential Functions

  • Serves as Child Protection Training Academy (Simulations) Staff Development Training Administrator.
  • Develops and implements statewide policies and procedures for all Simulations staff development and training programs.
  • Serves as full line supervisor of subordinate staff.
  • Develops and implements operational and program plans and budgets statewide consistent with an assessment of ongoing Child Protection Training Academy (Simulations) training needs.
  • Defines and directs the development of statewide planning for Child Protection Training Academy (Simulations) training programs to meet the needs of specific departmental divisions and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a master's degree in social work or a master's degree in a related human services field from a recognized college or university.
  • Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of professional experience supervising or conducting child protection services/investigations.
  • 3 years of professional experience applying adult learning theories to training simulations for a public or business organization.
  • 3 years of professional experience managing or conducting training programs for adult learning in a public or business organization.
  • 3 years of professional experience writing content for curricula and drafting standard operating procedures for a public or business organization.
  • 3 years of experience supervising professional staff in a public or business organization.
  • 3 years of experience serving as a liaison for a public or business organization.


Conditions of Employment

  • Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, valid driver's license.
  • Requires ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
