Position SummaryThis position assumes responsibility for a variety of sensitive, confidential and complex assignments. The position will create and implement complex policies on a wide range of primary prevention strategies to prevent child abuse and neglect. This position will provide operational support to the Prevention Board and Foundation, including procurement and fiscal procedures. In addition, this position is responsible for advancing policy and initiatives through the Prevention Board's Community Investment Plan.
The position supports and advises the Executive Director, including representing the Executive Director in meetings and at events. This position is given substantial authority to act on behalf of the Prevention Board Executive Director and is charged with developing and advancing the Board's policy agenda that is aligned with the Prevention Board strategic plan and builds collaboration across the agencies and systems represented on the Board.

Salary InformationThe classification title for this position is Administrative Policy Advisor . The starting salary is between $35.00 and $46.59 per hour ($72,800 and $96,907 annually), depending on qualification s. Pay for current and new State of WI employees will be based on the compensation plan in effect at the time of the appointment.
Pay for current state employees who are transferring will be determined based upon the pay on transfer rules (higher level duties or equity) as outlined in the compensation plan in effect at the time of appointment. The pay schedule/range is 81-03. A one-year probationary period may be required.
Job DetailsDue to the nature of the position, final candidates may be required to allow The Prevention Board to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charges or convictions would be substantially related to the job being filled.

QualificationsMinimally qualified applicants will have: - Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures at an agency/organization level.
- Experience serving in a leadership role (e.g., delegating work responsibilities, monitoring personnel workload, providing coaching, mentoring and training, etc.),
- Experience working with data and/or manipulating data in Excel (making charts, tables, pivot tables, trends, forecasts, etc.).
Well-qualified applicants will have: - Experience managing an operational budget and/or state and/or federal grant administration processes.
- Experience working with contract life cycles and procurement and contract management activities (e.g., writing requirements for procurement, reviewing proposals, negotiating deliverables, grant oversight, purchase orders, etc.)
- Experience developing annual and biennial performance reports on grant deliverables to comply with statutory requirements (i.e. biennial grant report for legislators, annual grants report for Board of Directors, etc.).
- Experience supervising and/or managing staff in a formal setting (e.g., evaluating staff performance, assigning work, providing feedback, formal onboarding, hiring, or dismissing of staff, etc.)
