Full Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY
At this exciting time in the company's journey, Beacon Group is looking for the senior-most technology leader responsible for setting technology direction, shaping the product and solution portfolio, and providing customer-facing technical credibility across Beacon EmbeddedWorks and Diamond Technologies.

This is a strategic, growth-oriented role. The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) ensures that technology and product decisions directly support revenue growth, sales effectiveness, margin improvement, and long-term enterprise value. Technology choices are treated as business and investment decisions, not standalone engineering efforts. The role is intentionally not focused on day-to-day engineering execution. Instead, the CTO focuses on portfolio direction, platform strategy, risk management, and converting technology investment into measurable commercial outcomes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This role will lead and manage the R&D Team, including overseeing day-to-day activities, development and growth, and performance management.

  • Support strategic customer opportunities where technology direction and roadmap confidence materially influence outcomes.

Technology and Portfolio Strategy
  • Define and maintain a coherent technology and product portfolio strategy across Beacon and DTI.
  • Guide decisions on platform investments, lifecycle management, and build, buy, or partner tradeoffs.
  • Promote disciplined portfolio focus on scalable, repeatable solutions while balancing strategic customer needs.

Investment and Risk Management
  • Evaluate major technology and R&D investments, including commercial return, risk, and time to value.
  • Manage architectural complexity and technical debt as business risks that impact growth, scalability, and margin.
  • Provide clear recommendations to guide executive-level technology decisions.

Customer and Market Credibility
  • Serve as a senior technical representative in key customer and partner engagements.
  • Translate complex technology decisions into clear, credible value propositions aligned with commercial outcomes.

Partner and Ecosystem Leadership
  • Lead strategy with key silicon vendors, platform partners, and development partners.
  • Align partner engagement with commercial and portfolio priorities to maximize leverage and differentiation.

Cross-Company Alignment
  • Drive alignment between Beacon and DTI on technology direction and platforms while preserving execution ownership within each business.
  • Identify opportunities for reuse, shared platforms, and operating leverage without introducing unnecessary complexity.

Strategic Growth Support
  • Support technical diligence for acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic investments.
  • Assess portfolio fit, technology risk, and long-term value creation potential.

What Success Looks Like
  • Faster conversion of technology investments into revenue and growth.
  • Improved win rates on opportunities where technology differentiation matters.
  • Increased contribution from scalable platforms versus bespoke solutions.
  • Clear linkage between technology strategy, sales pipeline quality, and business outcomes.
  • Reduced architectural and technical constraints that limit growth or scalability
