This Chief Technologist in Radiology is responsible for the efficient use of the department resources in the production of high quality diagnostic imaging and the best possible patient care.
They work collaboratively with the assistant administrator on a daily basis to ensure patient, referring physician, nursing units and employee satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for direction and oversight of Wakefield Radiology; including X-Ray, MR,CT, IR, and tech. Aides functions with direct oversight of radiology technologists and technologist aides.
Ensures maintenance of all licensures, registrations, and compliance with DOH, JCAHO, ACR and other accrediting agencies.
Makes frequent inspections of work areas, equipment, and work performed by the technologist and technologist assistant.
Ensures radiology, and all other equipment, is secured; maintained and in proper working condition.
Provide technical guidance for radiologic technologists.
Assigns work schedules and shifts. Manages departmental payroll.
Monitors and reports on quality indicators, including but not limited to turn around times, patient wait times, volume compared to budget, radiation dose reporting and other indicators as needed.
Written evaluation of technical staff on an annual basis.
Develops and monitors compliance of departmental policies and procedures.
Develops relationships with other departments, nursing units and referring physicians.
Recruitment, discipline and terminations as needed.
Development/implementation of PI initiatives.
Input and recommendations in budgeting process. Orders needed supplies.
Provides excellent customer service, while also trying to meet budgeted volume targets. (Ex-Patient wait times can hinder the patient experience. Position must be able to balance this.)
Creates a culture where staff are consistently focused on the patient experience while meeting targets and providing excellent/safe patient care while also keeping employee morale up.

REQUIREMENTS:

Associate's Degree
State of New York DOH License to practice Diagnostic Radiography with Injection
ARRT Registration
10+ years management/practice experience.

PREFERRED QUALITIES:

Bachelor's Degree
Background in radiology practice management preferred.
