Full Job Description
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides leadership and support to Planned Parenthood Great Plains' health centers and business operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality sexual and reproductive health care. The COO is a member of PPGP's executive leadership team and has oversight of health center operations and centralized services, including functions supported through Clinical Health Network (CHN), which includes IT, revenue cycle, and patient contact center. The COO partners with the CEO, Chief Medical Officer, and VP of Healthcare Operations to develop strategies for care delivery and optimization informed by the organization's deep commitment to reproductive freedom. This position requires travel to PPGP's health centers in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. RESPONSIBILITIES • Provides oversight of the Health Services team including health center management and Centralized Operations. • Serves as a strategic partner to CHN, which provides PPGP's IT, revenue cycle, and patient contact center services. • Participates in Executive Leadership meetings. Conducts staff meetings with leadership team members as appropriate. • Oversees Health Services operational and strategic planning in partnership with PPGP's CMO, including project planning, launch of new services/locations, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources. • Works closely with PPGP's Legal and Compliance Team to identify, address, and improve issues in care delivery and to implement rapid changes, as needed. • Develops, executes and evaluates programs to provide and/or expand health services delivery based on organization vision, goals and objectives, fiscal/administrative objectives, and community/patient needs. • Maintains optimal productivity of all health services-related operations. In coordination with the VP of Healthcare Operations, the COO is responsible for ensuring staffing levels and appointment schedule templates meet or exceed productivity goals and meet or exceed annual estimated visits proposed in the organization's annual budget. • Leads, motivates, coaches and trains leaders and managers within areas of responsibility. • Provides timely feedback and performance evaluation reviews with staff. • Ensures all required onboarding and training is completed for direct reports. • Working in partnership with the Human Resources Department, negotiates and executes contracts with independent contractors as necessary. • Provides oversight of business and operational policies, systems, and procedures. Identifies key metrics for performance to be reported to appropriate stakeholders on a routine basis. • In partnership with the VP of Finance, performs data-driven analyses to monitor health services performance, connecting metrics into actionable business strategies and measurable improvements. • Together with the Health Services and Compliance teams, ensures that all state regulatory and organizational medical practices and protocols are interpreted, implemented, and managed by all health services staff. • Collaborates effectively across PPGP teams to ensure that all health centers are in a state of accreditation/regulatory readiness for any inspections by state, local and national licensing and accreditation bodies. • Maintains knowledge of abortion and family planning regulations and ensures changes are implemented as necessary. • Represents the organization at meetings, community events, conferences, and fundraising, as appropriate. REQUIREMENTS Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree. Five (5) to eight (8) years of operational leadership in a healthcare setting characterized by progressively expanding scope and responsibility. Must have 2 years at the executive leadership level. Reproductive healthcare experience desired. Experience working in a complex organization across multiple geographies. Financial acumen that has achieved or exceeded business plans. Preferred Education and Experience Master's degree or equivalent work experience in healthcare administration preferred. Experience in developing and launching new healthcare services.
