Full Job Description
About the role
This role is the operational backbone of our venture investing practice, working alongside the Partner who leads it. Roughly, you'll spend your time as follows:
  • Strategic partnership (30%). Work directly with the Partner and VC team to design and execute key initiatives. Manage the Partner's time and calendar with intention, protect space for high-value work, and keep the business aligned around what matters most.
  • Project and information management (30%). Coordinate internal and external deliverables, identify bottlenecks before they become problems, and build the systems that keep everything moving.
  • Materials and meeting prep (20%). Draft, edit, and polish investment memos, pitch decks, LP updates, and marketing documents. Synthesize information from across the firm and ensure every meeting is worth the time.
  • Investor and client engagement (10%). Support LP relations: onboarding, communications, prep. We hold ourselves to a high standard of service for everyone we work with, whether they're investors, founders, or partners across the industry.
  • Firmwide collaboration (10%). Partner with colleagues across investment, fundraising, marketing, events, and operations. Step in on broader initiatives when needed. We're a small, close-knit team, and everyone contributes to the whole.

The right person will find new lanes opening up as they build trust and demonstrate range.

You
We're looking for an early career operator (3 to 6+ years out of undergrad, though we're open to the right person at any stage) who is ready to take on outsized scope and ownership on a small team that gives you room to run.
  • Outrageously organized. You thrive on structure and systems. You arrange your own priorities effectively and keep others on track too.
  • Intellectually curious. You want to understand the "why" behind the work, not just complete the task in front of you. You bring judgment to how things get done.
  • A strong communicator. Comfortable drafting high-stakes documents and presenting clearly in any setting, internal or external.
  • Tech-fluent. Proficient with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Experience with CRM platforms and AI tools is a meaningful plus.
  • Relevant background. We're open on industry. The traits above show up in lots of places, including early roles at high-growth startups, venture or private equity, consulting, investment banking, and other settings where ambitious people do hard work fast. If you've been the connective tissue on every team you've been part of, we want to hear from you.
  • Los Angeles-based, or ready to be. You should be able to demonstrate ties or a genuine commitment to Los Angeles/SoCal.

What you'll get
  • Direct exposure. A seat alongside a sharp, close-knit team and exposure to one of the most active fintech-focused venture practices in the country: the founders building it, and the investors backing it.
  • Growth. The trajectory is up to you. We prefer entrepreneurially minded individuals who want to progress and grow rapidly.
  • Benefits. Generous medical packages, options for vision and dental, 401(k) matching program, flexible vacation, and daily in-office lunches.
  • Compensation. $110,000-$160,000 base, depending on experience, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and carried interest.
  • Our office. Santa Monica, in-person. T-shirts and jeans (or whatever you're most comfortable in). Most of us wear our Clocktower hoodies.
