Job SummaryChief of Staff / Director of Academic and Student ServicesPOSITION SUMMARYThe Chief of Staff / Director of Academic and Student Services serves as a senior member of the Winfield City Schools leadership team and works directly under the supervision of the Superintendent.
The position provides district-level leadership, coordination, and oversight in the areas of
Federal Programs, Curriculum and Instruction, District Testing and Accountability, Truancy and Attendance, Pre-K Programs, and other Academic and Student Services assigned by the Superintendent.
As Chief of Staff, the employee assists the Superintendent in coordinating district priorities, supporting school and district administrators, monitoring the implementation of strategic initiatives, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments and schools.
The Chief of Staff / Director of Academic and Student Services is expected to maintain a district-wide perspective and help ensure that the instructional, operational, and student-support initiatives of Winfield City Schools remain aligned with the vision, goals, and expectations established by the Superintendent and Board of Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCandidates must possess:
- A master's degree or higher in Instructional Leadership, Educational Leadership, Administration, or an equivalent educational leadership program, with preference given to a degree specifically in Instructional Leadership.
- Appropriate Alabama certification in Instructional Leadership/Administration, as required for the position.
- Successful experience as a K-12 school administrator.
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, school improvement, and student achievement.
- Knowledge of state and federal education requirements and accountability systems.
- Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and use data to guide instructional and administrative decisions.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT - Salary, contract length, work schedule, and benefits shall be established by the Winfield City Board of Education in accordance with the approved salary schedule, applicable Board policy, and employment agreement.
EVALUATION - Performance of this position shall be evaluated by the Superintendent in accordance with Winfield City Board of Education policy and applicable procedures.
