DescriptionJoin WinnMed as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and become a key member of this fast-growing Critical Access Hospital. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing nursing services across the hospital and affiliated clinics and serve as a senior leader for WinnMed. The CNO mentors, directs and supports nurse leaders and staff, ensuring safe, evidence-based patient care, appropriate staffing levels, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Responsibilities include being visible/present with staff, reviewing quality and patient safety metrics, coordinating with medical staff, and addressing operational issues that affect patient flow and care delivery. The role includes developing and implementing nursing policies, leading performance improvement initiatives, managing budgets for nursing departments, and participating in strategic planning for the organization. The CNO also supports recruitment and retention efforts, fosters a culture of teamwork and respect, and represents nursing in executive and board-level discussions.

- Ability to drive cultural improvement leading to successful staff recruitment and retention.
- Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives within a healthcare organization.
- Proven skills in interprofessional collaboration, including working effectively with physicians, administrators, and community partners.
- Strong capabilities in resource allocation, and workforce planning.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and change management skills.
- Experience in rural or community hospital settings is highly beneficial.
- Experience in more than one clinical setting.
Requirements- Valid Iowa RN license.
- Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program and a Master's degree in Nursing, business, or health-related field (or commitment to obtain within two years).
- Minimum of five years experience in a nursing leadership role with line management responsibility.
