Overview Chief Medical Officer Dartmouth Hitchcock Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Dartmouth Hitchcock and the Chief Clinical Officer of Dartmouth Health, the CMO is a transformational executive, responsible for leading culture change, spearheading performance improvement and quality goals, and coordinating utilization, credentialing, and case management. The CMO serves as a role model for all network physicians while collaborating with operational leaders, finance, nursing, information technology, and supply chain.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Significant comfort level working within heavily matrixed organizations and bridging organizational siloes
- A strong understanding of metrics and medical analytics
- Ability to translate organizational strategy into clinical priorities, physician expectations, and measurable outcomes
- A clear understanding of the importance of accurate clinical documentation within patient medical records
- Knowledge of Stark Law, the federal anti-kickback statute, and other regulations including HIPAA and HCQIA
- Willingness to challenge traditional approaches and champion innovation and new model of evidence-based care
Minimum qualifications: - Qualified candidates must be a licensed, board-certified physician with a desire to continue active clinical practice.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in clinical leadership is required, as well as demonstrated knowledge in healthcare operations and excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Additional education at the master's level (MPH, MHA, etc.) is preferred.
