Full Job Description
The Chief Inspector reports to the Senior Vice President of Quality, Safety and Training with a direct line of communication to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Accountable Executive (AE) for Quality issues with overall responsibility and authority to manage all Quality Control (QC), and Aircraft Records related activities for the Company. Maintains the management position of Chief Inspector including a liaison between the Company and the FAA for Airworthiness related matters. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this role are to manage daily repair station inspection operations and administrative processes for LAUNCH's Wichita, KS repair station, mobile repair teams (MRT), and LAUNCH Teams AS9110/9100 managed projects
  • Perform the duties of Chief Inspector and liaison with the FAA for Airworthiness related matters including documents requiring FAA approval
  • Lead and manage LAUNCH Quality Control Inspectors
  • Perform, develop, and administer effective standars of quality, including inspection standards and procedures by LAUNCH and LAUNCH Customers
  • Interface with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance Departments to ensure safety and compliance with applicable CFR's are maintained
  • Manual owner including the Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM )
  • Accomplish repair station receiving inspection tasks
  • Generate reports, track and monitor success of internal operations metrics
  • Project inspection teams daily planning and scheduling
  • Manage and submit local inspection project payroll
  • Project technical implementation planning (T.I.P.)
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and on-boarding inspectors for repair station projects
  • Manage tool program, local parts and materials inventory as required
  • Direct and administer as required on-site training and training records processing as required to support repair station training
  • Identify and manage sub-contract maintenance vendors
  • On-site LEAN and 6S visual management
  • Travel to AS9110/9100 job sites to meet with customers and audit Teams and customer quality and safety requirements
  • Ability to train and qualify for Dangerous Goods (HAZMAT) shipping authorization
  • Ability to train and qualify for NDI / NDT disciplines (eddy current, ultrasound, penetrant, etc)
  • Other duties as requested by Senior Vice President of Quality

MINIMUM EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
  • A&P licenses
  • Previous site or station manager experience
  • 3 years documented transport category aircraft modification, repair and maintenance experience
  • Proficient with computer software (Microsoft Office products)
  • Local candidate in the Wichita, KS area strongly preferred
  • 4 year degree preferred
  • Formal leadership training preferred
  • Formal LEAN training preferred
