Title: Chief, General Internal Medicine/Geriatric Medicine

Job Summary/Basic Functions

Under the broad review of the Department Head, the Chief will provide leadership for the clinical, teaching, scholarship, administration, and research activities of the section. Work is performed at a mid-management level with some discretionary responsibility for the section.

Qualified candidates will currently hold or be eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: MD or equivalent

Certifications or Licenses Required: Board certified in Internal Medicine; licensed to practice Medicine in the State of Louisiana and credentialed with all required entities before hire.

Number of years required to perform the job: Ten

Type of experience required to perform the job: Experience in research, teaching and/or patient care.
Hold or be eligible for appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor.
