Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at OrthoArkansas is the organization's senior financial executive and a key member of the executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and partnering with the Board of Directors and physician ownership, the CFO is responsible for developing and executing the organization's long-term financial strategy while ensuring financial stability, compliance, and sustainable growth. This role provides strategic oversight of finance, accounting, treasury, capital planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management, while translating financial insights into decisions that advance the organization's mission and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Executive Leadership
  • Develop and execute the organization's long-range financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and physician ownership on all financial matters.
  • Provide executive leadership for all finance and accounting functions across the organization.
  • Lead financial planning initiatives that support growth, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability.
  • Champion innovation within Finance and Accounting, including the adoption and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to improve efficiency, reporting, forecasting, and decision-making.

2. Capital Planning, Treasury & Banking
  • Direct capital planning and oversee the organization's capital structure, financing strategies, and debt management.
  • Maintain executive relationships with banking institutions, lenders, and financial partners.
  • Lead treasury management, cash flow forecasting, investment strategies, and liquidity planning.
  • Evaluate financing opportunities and negotiate lending agreements that support organizational objectives.

3. Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Lead enterprise budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-range planning processes.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of strategic initiatives, acquisitions, partnerships, facility expansions, and capital investments.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve operational efficiency, and manage organizational expenses.
  • Provide meaningful financial analysis and executive reporting to support strategic decision-making.

4. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure a strong internal control environment and sound financial governance practices.
  • Oversee compliance with all applicable financial reporting, tax, regulatory, and healthcare requirements.
  • Direct enterprise risk management strategies related to financial operations.
  • Present financial performance, forecasts, risks, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, physician ownership, and the Board of Directors.

5. Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Develop and mentor finance leadership while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align financial strategy with operational priorities.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to improve organizational performance and financial outcomes.

6. Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of organizational growth and financial excellence.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • CPA and/or MBA required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • Previous experience serving as a Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Finance, or comparable executive finance leadership role required.
  • Experience leading both finance and accounting functions within a complex healthcare organization strongly preferred.

  • Proven executive leadership and strategic financial planning capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting, finance, treasury, capital planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare finance, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance.

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive leadership, physicians, and Board members.
