Rackspace Technology is seeking an exceptional finance executive to serve as Chief Financial Officer for its GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) business. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer of Rackspace Technology, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the General Manager of the GPU-as-a-Service business, to build and scale one of Rackspace's highest-growth businesses.
The CFO will serve as the financial architect of the GPUaaS business, providing strategic leadership across capital allocation, financial planning, infrastructure investment, commercial finance, pricing, investor support, and operational performance. This executive will establish the financial foundation necessary to support rapid growth while ensuring disciplined investment decisions and long-term profitability.
As Rackspace builds a standalone AI infrastructure business, the CFO will operate with an entrepreneurial mindset, balancing startup agility with the financial rigor expected of a public company. This is a highly visible leadership role that will influence strategic decisions across product investment, GPU fleet expansion, data center economics, customer economics, pricing strategy, and capital deployment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial Strategy & Business Leadership- Serve as the senior financial partner to the GM / BU leader for the GPU-as-a-Service segment, while partnering closely with and supporting the Rackspace CFO on corporate reporting, governance, and alignment with enterprise financial strategy.
- Define the financial operating model that supports launch, scale, and long-term value creation for the business.
- Lead annual planning, long-range forecasting, and scenario analysis to guide growth and investment decisions.
- Balance growth objectives with disciplined financial management, profitability, and capital efficiency.
- Build and lead a dedicated finance team to support the GPU-as-a-Service business, hiring and developing talent as the organization scales.
Capital Allocation & Infrastructure Economics- Develop and manage the capital strategy supporting GPU fleet expansion, infrastructure investment, and capacity planning.
- Evaluate CapEx versus OpEx tradeoffs, depreciation horizons, and return on invested capital for major infrastructure decisions.
- Partner with technical and operations leaders to translate demand forecasts into financial and capacity plans.
- Build a rigorous view of GPU economics, including utilization, fleet efficiency, cost curves, and generational transitions.
Commercial Finance & Pricing- Partner with go-to-market and product leaders to design pricing models rooted in GPU economics and customer consumption patterns.
- Support commercial negotiations for large enterprise and strategic customer agreements.
- Analyze reserved capacity, spot capacity, and consumption-based pricing options to optimize revenue and margin.
Planning, Reporting & Performance Management- Lead FP&A, reporting, and KPI dashboards for bookings, revenue, gross margin, utilization, and capital efficiency.
- Establish clear operating metrics and business reviews that enable fast, data-driven decisions.
- Provide regular performance updates to the CEO, executive team, Board, and investors as appropriate.
Strategic Partnerships- Support executive relationships with GPU, silicon, cloud, and infrastructure partners through financial and commercial analysis.
- Assess supply and deployment economics to support joint capacity planning and procurement decisions.
- Help shape strategic partnerships that improve economics, supply access, and long-term business resilience.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSFinancial expertise- 15+ years of executive finance leadership experience supporting high-growth technology, cloud, AI infrastructure, or capital-intensive businesses.
- Demonstrated expertise in capital allocation, financial planning, infrastructure economics, pricing strategy, and business performance management.
- Strong track record evaluating data center economics and structuring large-scale capital investment decisions, including build-vs-lease, depreciation, and return thresholds.
- Proven experience partnering on large-scale investments, strategic partnerships, commercial negotiations, and corporate development initiatives.
- Direct experience as CFO or senior finance executive at a GPU cloud, neocloud, or infrastructure-as-a-service provider (e.g., CoreWeave, Lambda, Crusoe, DigitalOcean) strongly preferred.
