DescriptionTypical Duties:Financial Management
- Consolidate financial data and prepare summary reports and presentations to Executive Director, Board and staff
- Oversees the development and monitoring of budgets
- Interface with funding sources to insure up to date information on funding agency needs and possible funding changes
- Monitor agency expenditures for budget compliance overall and by department; report expenditures and variances to department directors
- Assist the CEO in development, establishment, and implementation of any procedures to implement/reinforce fiscal policies or regulations and procedures required by funding sources
- Safeguard the Agency with appropriate levels of risk management insurance and financial controls
- Develops and monitors short-range and long-range Fiscal Department goals that complement Agency goals
- Serve as liaison to the Audit Committee and auditors designated to perform an independent annual audit of the agency's books/records
- Works with Information Technology department to update or create new technology systems
- Answers questions and provides guidance on accounting policies & procedures
Investment Management
- Manage treasury function, including investments
- Research best practices and invest Agency funds in accordance with policy
- Track, monitor and report on Agency Investments
Staff supervision/training
- Hires or approves hiring of staff
- Develops, implements, and monitors staff development, including training materials and training for staff
- Evaluates assigned staff and oversees evaluations of other staff
- Ensures staff compliance with all agency safety practices, ergonomics and work rules
- Responsible for knowing policies in the Employee Handbook to address employee issues; works with management on resolution of personnel issues
- Terminates or approves termination of program staff
Contract compliance
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with grants, funders and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
- Monitors contract budgets and submits budget revisions as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in a field that develops skills related to typical duties; Four years of additional professional experience may substitute for the required education; and
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in related program administration; and
- Four (4) years of senior management/supervisory experience in administering personnel and budget requirements.

Physical Factors:- Works in an office setting. Work is primarily sedentary; but may also work outdoors at field sites on an incidental basis and requires light physical effort; may require greater physical effort on an incidental basis
- Possess visual capability and digital dexterity to operate a computer and other standard office equipment
- Make fine visual distinctions upon proofreading written documents and viewing information on a computer screen
- May be subject to various job demands such as high volume of work and tight deadlines
- This position may require travel. Staff applying for or holding positions will be required to successfully meet Child Action, Inc.'s motor vehicle requirements.
