Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our leadership team as part of a planned succession.

Our current CFO will be retiring. To ensure a seamless transition, the incoming CFO will have the opportunity to work directly alongside the current CFO during a transition period, gaining firsthand knowledge of the organization's financial operations, leadership team, affiliated companies, systems, processes, and key relationships with external stakeholders such as accounting, banking, employee benefits, legal, and insurance.

We are seeking a strong financial leader who can build on the organization's existing foundation while bringing operational discipline and forward-thinking leadership to the role.

The successful candidate will have at least ten years of relevant experience and hold either a CPA or an MBA. The successful candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of financial accounting, treasury and cash management, and a working understanding of income tax and transaction tax concepts. Strong people management and problem-solving skills are essential, as is proficiency in the use of technology, including AI applications.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Corporate Accounting/Finance Team, Treasury and other financial personnel as determined by the organizational structure.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and scalability of finance and accounting systems and personnel as the organization grows.
  • Provide vision and leadership to the corporate Accounting / Finance Team


Financial Leadership & Strategy
  • Aligns the company's overall financial strategy with corporate objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO, and senior leadership team.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support major business decisions.
  • Support management in evaluating potential acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, and strategic partnerships.


Multi-Entity Financial Management
  • Oversee financial operations for the holding company and its multiple subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • Establish appropriate financial reporting, controls, policies, and procedures across all entities while recognizing differences in each affiliate's operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial results.


Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Oversee the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Develop consolidated and entity-level reporting packages for ownership and management.
  • Establish and monitor appropriate accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Oversee year-end financial statement audits, tax compliance, and other external reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with external CPAs, tax advisors, auditors, attorneys, and other professional advisors.


Construction Finance & Job Costing
  • Oversee financial reporting and analysis related to construction projects and operations.
  • Ensure accurate job costing, revenue recognition, work-in-progress reporting, and project profitability analysis.
  • Partner with operations and project management to identify financial risks and opportunities.


Cash Flow, Treasury & Banking
  • Oversee company-wide cash-flow forecasting and liquidity management.
  • Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, lines of credit, and treasury functions.
  • Oversee borrowing, debt compliance, and capital structure.


Surety, Insurance & Risk Management
  • Establish and maintain relationships with surety providers, banks, insurance brokers, and other financial partners.
  • Monitor insurance programs and financial risks in coordination with appropriate internal and external advisors.
  • Identify financial, operational, and contractual risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.


Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the holding company and affiliates.
  • Develop rolling forecasts and long-range financial plans.
  • Monitor actual results against budgets and forecasts and provide explanations and corrective recommendations.
  • Develop financial models to evaluate growth initiatives, acquisitions, capital expenditures, and other strategic opportunities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • CPA, MBA, or other relevant advanced credential preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial management experience including significant experience in a senior finance or CFO-level role with demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial operations across multiple legal entities, subsidiaries, or affiliates required.
  • Experience with banking relationships required.
  • Experience in construction, contracting, real estate development, engineering, or another project-based industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, and project profitability is preferred.
  • Experience with bonding/surety requirements, insurance, and financing arrangements is preferred.
  • Proficiency with construction ERP/accounting software is a plus (e.g., Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, CMiC, Procore, Foundation, or similar).

Safety Sensitive Position

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
